BRICKWORK AND POINTING

Brickwork
Trained by artisan period specialists, Christopher has spent 15 years developing a deep understanding of what can be created with this simple material. From his signature curved designs to statement boundary walls and everything in between, the quality and individuality of even the most basic brickwork structure is something Christopher prides himself on. If you have a design in mind, or want guidance in what could be produced in the space you have, he will work with you from the initial discussion and sketches, through providing sample materials for you to choose, and on to completion.

Pointing
Driving water often penetrates cement, and as it ages it often becomes more porous. Water is absorbed by the cement and when the temperature outside is low enough the water freezes making it expand, this then forces the cement from in between the joints, often leaving partial or full gaps between the bricks. It is important to repair the damaged pointing as soon as possible, either by repairing just the pointing that has fallen out (patch re-pointing) or by removing all the old cement on a large area and re-pointing the whole area. Patch re-pointing is sufficient but if the amount of damage is large it is best to do a full grind out and re-point (preferably before the onset of winter). Christopher and his team are specialists in all styles of pointing, colour matching and brick repair.
